Vehicles Generating the Most Leads in Q4 2007

The results of the Dealix Most Requested Vehicle Index of Q4 2007 are clear: consumers are looking for solid reliability, functionality, and as many miles to the gallon as they can get. With Honda dethroning the Toyota Camry for the number one most requested car, Honda now dominates the first place position across three categories: cars, minivans and SUVs.

This quarter, there was a big shake up in the typically Camry-dominated car category. The Honda Accord Sedan has taken first place, with the Toyota taking a solid second. The Honda Civic Sedan and the Toyota Corolla, come in third and fourth, respectively. The BMW 3 Series makes the biggest drop in the category, going from third place to seventh. But, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class makes its debut on the 'Top Ten' at number six. Another new comer to our most requested cars list is the Mini Cooper, coming in at eighth place. With the Civic Coupe coming in ninth and the Accord Coupe coming in tenth, four of the top ten are Hondas.

Minivans are seeing more popularity, stealing some limelight from SUVs. Consumers have shown that they are looking for vehicles with a reputation of reliability and functionality in this category as well. Honda sweeps the number one spot, as the Odyssey continues to be the number one choice. Other popular choices, the Toyota Sienna and the Chrysler Town and Country, took second and third. The more luxurious Buick Terraza makes the list for the first time, in tenth place.

In SUVs, the Honda CR-V takes first over the Toyota RAV4. The Toyota Tacoma takes third, with the Hyundai Santa Fe moving all the way up to fourth spot from its previous ninth. Interestingly, the Honda Pilot drops off the chart making room for a new addition to the list, the GMC Arcadia.

The truck category continues to hold steady, paying homage to the three great American built trucks that continue to win, place and show. Ford takes the gold with its F Series, Chevrolet the silver with the Silverado, and Dodge the bronze with the Ram. However, you can never count out the popular Japanese manufacturers, as two Toyota models, the Tacoma and the Tundra, take fourth and fifth.
